Powell Signature Headjoint

Accounting for over 50% of the flute's acoustical value, the headjoint is widely recognized as the most important part of the flute and provides your flute with its true character and personality. For this reason,Sonaréhas chosen Powell's hand-cut Signature headjoint for their flutes.

Each Signature headjoint is painstakingly hand-cut and tested by Powell crafts-people who are professionally trained flutists. Powell offers the "S" style cut on both its Signature and Custom headjoints. Ransom Wilson uses an "S" 14k gold headjoint. Compared to other contemporary headjoints, the "S" has less undercutting, which results in a strong low register. The overcutting maintains a free top register, and the slightly larger embouchure hole provides an easy response.
