With a modern scale and Straubinger pads, this instrument reclaims the charm of Verne Q. Powell’s era. It features a “hard, thin” tube, a traditional pinned mechanism, smaller arms, and lower posts. One can have the aesthetic and ergonomics of a vintage Powell flute, while retaining the response and consistency required by a modern player.
