This Kuiper Alto Flute is a great find! Dick Kuiper founded his flute workshop in the Netherlands in the early 1950's and is well know for wooden, silver and gold flutes as well as his alto flutes. He was 2nd flutist in the Concertgebouw Orchestra and took on Eva Kingma as his protege in 1975. She took over his company in 1981. This alto flute has an impressively brisk response along with a warm, fluid sound in all registers. It also features soldered tone holes and a wooden, wave lip plate!
