for Flute with Piano & Electronics composed by Daniel Kelley
Commissioned by the California Conservatory Series, The Theory of F-L-U-Tion is an exuberant eight-minute work for Flute, Piano (live or recorded), & Electronics. Premiered in September 2024 by Professor Jenni Olson at California State University Long Beach, this piece introduces the flutist to performance with a click track, along with the option of chordal (and totally fun!) improvisation. Designed for intermediate-to-advanced flutists, it features a theme that constantly evolves while showcasing technique, style, and versatility. The Theory of F-L-U-Tion can be performed one of two ways: with live piano and a split track (click on one side, electronics on the other) or with solely a split track (click on one side, recorded piano & electronics on the other)
